I lost my Fancy today. My pretty girl, my crazy girl, my sweetest girl. She could have been saying her goodbyes in the last few days, because she had been exceptionally kissy, which she knows I love, but is really not her style. It didn’t matter to me, she was full of life and showed her love and feelings about things in many different ways. Whether she was kissing or singing or dancing or yelling or cheering, she was my heart, and I am going to miss her terribly.

I can’t write a lot about her right now, but I wanted to post some recent pictures. This little seven-pound lady took up my entire heart, and I am so very grateful that she was part of my life for so long.

I love love love many things, and I have a lot of love to give. But that doesn’t mean I love everything, so I thought I’d post a little list of stuff I really don’t like. At all. Not to say these things are bad (you are free to love them all you want), but they’re not my cuppa tea.

*Ribs and chicken wings/legs (as food you consume) — The idea of eating meat off the bone grosses me out. More than you can understand. And I prefer not to watch anyone else eat them.

*Bathrooms decorated in blue and water/ocean themes — This is the WORST feng shui, just sayin’.

*Tosh.O — I just don’t.

*Brown — Totally fine in nature, but I don’t like it in clothing or decor. Same goes for beige.

*Snakes.

*When people I don’t like actually like things that I love — No. You are not allowed to like that. I want to not like you completely, so let’s not have anything in common.

*Pomegranates.

I often avoid bed time, but because I stay up late, nap time is my absolute favorite. My subconscious must be well aware of this, because I was looking at my We Heart It page and realized I had saved many pictures of beds. Here are a bunch of them, inviting you to get cozy and snooze a bit. You may notice that I moved a bed picture from a previous post and put it here. It was more fitting here — I think I love beds, but especially beds in nooks

I don’t know if this one is a bed, but I’d totally sleep in it.

It was chilly and gray and slushy and damp outside today, and it’s not easy to get going and happily travel to work when that is what greets you when you walk out the door. But I forgot all about the dirty melting snow this morning, because these songs accompanied me on my commute and kept my spirits high. I put them in a mix – hopefully they’ll cheer you, too.

February brings flowers! (I wish)

I’m not sure what that little groundhog declared earlier this month because on his celebratory day, my town of Chicago got 20 inches of snow. Then we got some crazy cold weather, but now it warmed up a little and everything is gray and slushy. Lovely! I need some color and flowers (like now) and I’m confident these sources can deliver.

*Draw! Pilgrim — I discovered this site today via How About Orange (another great source for color!) and I fell in love. My blog’s tagline is “pretty pretty and fun fun” and Draw! Pilgrim delivers on that and how. This is photo from a recent post on her blog, and be sure to check out her Etsy site — it’s full of gorgeous goods.

*This awesome flickr set of Robert McGinnis’ illustrations (found via Draw! Pilgrim). I love this one of Barefoot in the Park because I love love love that movie, but all of his Bond illustrations are super cool, too.

*Last but not least, regardless of the temp outside or color of the landscape, nothing brings the cheer like dancing. I am super in love with the movie Pirate Radio because the music is great and it’s totally funny (it’s also filled with cute boys). There are so many awesome scenes in this movie, but one of my favorites is actually a deleted scene on the dvd. It has some of the greatest dancing ever, and it’s just perfect.
