09.04.2009

A snoopy friend (no, not Snoopy) just read this on my computer and insisted I post it. It’s from Memorial Day 2009. Not sure why I didn’t post it at that time, guess I forgot.

*I’ve decided I’m done with best/worst dressed lists. 1) I rarely agree with the commentators. 2) I really don’t give a shit what celebrities look like. 3) If someone wears something truly outrageous (truly truly truly outrageous!), I love it because it always makes things more INTERESTING. 4) Even if I wouldn’t wear a particular outfit or dress or whatever, I still thoroughly enjoy looking at the fashion. I love the pictures, and I will continue to look.
*I still enjoy Go Fug Yourself on occassion, even though that site is all about judging fashion. Those girls are funny and good writers, and they often take the stance that they are trying to HELP. And you know how I love the do-gooders. Plus, they reference things that have little to do with fashion or the particular celeb in their post, and it’s really funny. Also, I love when they report on the “conversations” the people in the pictures are having. Hilario.
*I am not ashamed to admit it — I will watch, rent and go see (only on 5-buck club, obvi) tv shows/netflix/movies that feature men I find very handsome/hot/crush-worthy, even if said entertainment feature isn’t something I would normally be interested in. This explains why I own Hulk (I don’t remember if it was a gift or I found it in the bargain bin and snatched it up — either is likely) and have watched Munich (a little movie about TERRORISM and the MIDDLE EAST CONFLICT that is just a wee bit DEPRESSING) multiple times. And bought a used copy from Netflix. Sometimes I need a good Eric Bana/Daniel Craig fix, and Munich gives me what I need. That reminds me, my godmother needs to return the Casino Royale dvd I let her borrow at Christmas. I don’t think she reads this blog, though, so I should mention that to her via some other medium.
*Speaking of hot guys, I got Rocknrolla from Netflix a couple of weeks ago. I watched it a few times while it was at my house because I was in love with almost everyone in it. Idris Alba (drool), a few of the supporting actors (whose names I don’t know) and Gerard Butler. I was pretty whatever toward GB before – yeah, cute but nothing special. Rocknrolla sure smartened me up in that regard. Very Staci-worthy. Also in that movie, I realized I have a girl crush on Thandie Newton. (In other girl crush news, I really love Michelle Monaghan right now. Shit, her legs are long. Color me jealous.)
*I’ve been really good lately about not buying beauty products/makeup/hair stuff, etc. (“really good” is extremely relative, by the way) But it’s getting warmer, and I’m running out of body lotions, so I need to think about a summertime formula. I seriously think I’m going with Hawaiian Tropic tanning oil as my summer body moisturizer. I love it and love the scent, so case closed.
*Yeah, I really do sit and spend time thinking about what moisturizer I’m going to use for a particular season. I’m not apologizing for it.
*In other non-important and also celebrity-related news (yes, I know, I’m continually saying I’m giving up celebrities, but I let myself slip sometimes and in certain instances), I am a subscriber to Goop.com, Gwyneth Paltrow’s blog/lifestyle newsletter. I like GP as an actress; as a person, who knows. I don’t suscribe because I’m dying for her wisdom on whatever. I really just think it’s funny. It’s not meant to be funny, but it makes me giggle. And simply, I like giggling, and when I find something that makes me giggle, I try to keep that thing in my life. Yeah, my head is filled with silliness and ridiculousness. What else is new?
*I’m watching Remains of the Day while writing this blog (and not writing stuff for work). The blue paint on the wall near the main stairway in the house is something I need. Truly. It is simply gorgeous. Yes, the entire movie is gorgeous and beautiful and a fantastic story. But I’m going to remember that blue paint next time I’m changing up my home decor.
*Ok, Remains of the Day is over. MASH, the movie, is on now. I love this movie. It’s memorial day, so why not. I’m going to sign off now, and focus on the movie, and continue to not work.
